The secret of making something work in your life is first of all, the deep desire to make it work; then the faith and certainty that it can work—then to hold that clear definite vision in your consciousness and see it working out step by step, without one thought of doubt or disbelief. ~ Eileen Caddy
Certainty is defined as “the mental state of being without doubt.”
For life to be the essence of hope and happiness, it needs a vessel—that vessel is certainty. The opponent to certainty is doubt. In the opponent’s paradigm of insignificance, we don’t become all that we can become because of self-doubt. Yet, something within consistently tells us we can, but we allow circumstances, well-meaners, and our own self-talk to restrict the flow of certainty.
Spiritual writings, whatever the source, will point to the extraordinary ability of certainty (knowing that you know) and the absolute devastation of doubt (the insidious sabotage). If you believe life is good, whatever comes, you will find the silver lining. If not, and ‘someone’ is always out to get you, pain and suffering will oblige the thought.
The next time a great idea ‘drops’ into your thinking, try allowing it to germinate, protecting it from doubt and doubters. Practice thoughts of certainty and overcome the shadow of doubt. Go for what is yours!
Trust that little voice in your head that says, “Wouldn’t it be interesting if . . .” And then do it.
